Historical Retrospective

In the late 1960s, Borg Warner, a major American corporation and automatic transmission producer, became aware of the increased demand in Scandinavia for cars with automatic transmissions. Over time, this led to the conclusion that, in order to handle the demand for service and repairs in an economical way, they would need a qualified service centre in northern Europe.

In 1969 Borg Warner therefore decided to start a service centre in Stenungsund, Sweden. A short time later, the company began to cooperate with the Japanese company Aisin Warner, thus it was only natural for us to include their products in our range. Later, the production of automatic transmissions for passenger cars was transferred to Japan, which meant that Aisin Warner was responsible for a major share of the production of automatic transmissions. Our company remained a part of the large Borg Warner group until 1984, when, following a management group takeover, the company became completely Swedish owned.

The headquarters were located in Stenungsund since the start of the business, but in 1994 we moved to our present location, as our operations required larger premises. Our business now operates from premises situated between the two vehicle metropolises of Göteborg/Hisingen and Trollhättan.
