Past, present and future…

In the late 1960s, Borg Warner, a major American corporation and automatic transmission producer, became aware of the increased demand in Scandinavia for cars with automatic transmissions. Over time, this led to the conclusion that, in order to handle the demand for service and repairs in an economical way, they would need a qualified service centre in northern Europe.

Borg Warner therefore decided to start a service centre in Stenungsund, Sweden, in 1971. A short time later, the company began to cooperate with the Japanese company Aisin Warner, thus it was only natural for us to include their products in our range. Later, the production of automatic transmissions for passenger cars was transferred to Japan, which meant that Aisin Warner was responsible for a major share of the production of automatic transmissions. Our company remained a part of the large Borg Warner group until 1984, when, following a management group takeover, the company became completely Swedish owned.

The headquarters have been located in Stenungsund since the start of the business, but in 1994 we moved to our present location, as our operations required larger premises. Our business now operates from purpose-built premises in the Doteröd industrial estate situated between the two vehicle metropolises of Göteborg/Hisingen and Trollhättan.

The company has grown slowly but steadily and today comprises 35 well trained mechanics as well as an additional five full time employees responsible for stock and logistics. Over the years staff turnover has been low, and several employees have been with us since the company was first founded. In addition to our motor industry operations, we have a well equipped garage and can thus also carry out normal service and repairs related to the transmission.

Our business is based on recycling and optimisation of resources, such as light metal, which is very expensive and energy intensive to produce. We are convinced that remanufacturing is something that will increase in line with the greater environmental awareness of the end customer. The rapid technical development means that very few workshops can handle transmission related problems, resulting in a growing demand for our services. Taken together, these aspects indicate a very bright future and we anticipate continued growth.
